‘I love my Academic’ returned this year after recently receiving a Bronze HEIST award for the Best Internal Communications Campaign last year.
This year’s campaign again saw a larger number of nominations for academics across the whole of the University.
Students were asked to nominate those academics who they believed provided excellent and innovative teaching and to highlight those that they believed went the ‘extra mile’ for students. Hundreds of nominations were received and the winners from each college are listed below.

This year sees the return of the ‘I love my academic’ campaign coordinated by the Students’ Union.
It is your chance to nominate your favourite academic or one that has made a difference to your experience here at the University. We are asking you to nominate an academic who has been particularly engaging, innovative or supportive in their teaching.
Last year we had over 700 nominations for academics and we want to increase the number this year. There will be one winner from each college and you have the opportunity to write a qualifying statement to support your nomination and…

An exciting new award has been launched by the University of Leicester to celebrate excellent contributions by students who teach and support learning and who make a real impact by contributing directly to the enhancement of the student learning experience.
If you have made a real difference to student learning or contributed to improvements in teaching policy and practice, you could be a winner!
Six awards are available, each bearing a cash prize of £200.

The University of Leicester is undertaking a review of the services provided to students to help them with their careers and their learning skills.
I, Alex Nutt (Students’ Union Academic Affairs Officer) am co-chairing the review with Christine Fyfe (Pro-Vice Chancellor, Students).
The University wants to get as much feedback from students as possible about how you use these services and how you think they could be enhanced to meet your needs better.
The survey will take a maximum of 15 minutes to complete and must be completed in one sitting.
