I am pleased to announce that as of today, Tuesday 24th January 2012, a new Students’ Union policy will be in effect. This new policy, will mean that the Students’ Union building will be re-dedicated for the sole use of those in the University of Leicester community – that is primarily, yourselves and your fellow students.

“Well, what a hectic time it has been with so many Union and society events to go to, and so many queries for me to solve. However, the good news I’d like to report is that, overall, society, club and association takings at Freshers’ Fair are all up on previous years. Indeed some student groups have reported record fundraising from membership takings, leading to a strong beginning for the Union’s academic year. A particular mention should go to our Media Groups, whereby all three have done exceptionally well this year fundraising wise.

Dear colleagues,
This is Fénian here, Activities Officer in the SU this year. I make up one fifth of the Executive of the Students’ Union. My job is to oversee the political and strategic development of all societies, sports clubs, associations and media groups within the Students’ Union.
You’ll hopefully get to know me over the year, as I tend to be at many Union, society and club events.

Tis the fresher season, a time of year when new students descend on their new institution of learning (‘grats on choosing this one, University of Leicester is a treat) and a time of year when the Media churns out content about the student experience, which ranges in quality.
Its fluffy content to put out, everyone thinks they know what the student experience is, they have a view on it and dump out their option via a terrible article in the Daily Mail, a pointless web documentary of a fresher coming to terms with leaving home for the first time or…
