Lots of exciting things are coming up politically over the next few months and your Students’ Union wants to do all it can to ensure that you have every opportunity to get involved.
During the next 6 months there will be the City Council elections, where you get to decided who represents you at the Town Hall - a really important opportunity for the student voice to finally be heard in Leicester, considering the student dominance of areas such as Clarendon Park. With a large student turn out this city will have to start taking the needs of the us into account. In addition, we expect there to be referendums on the alternative voting system and if Leicester should have an elected mayor.
Hence, it is imperative that you get registered to vote so that you can have your say on the future of this city.
It’s really easy to get yourself registered. Simply fill out the form at aboutmyvote.co.ukor pop into the Students’ Union, and we’ll get all the forms sorted for you.
