Our Students' Union - Top 10 in the Country!

The results of the 2012 Times Higher Education Student Experience Survey shows a 20-place jump to joint eighth (in a list of 105 institutions).

The results from the latest survey find us solidly in the top ten, sharing eighth spot with Reading, Birmingham, Southampton and UEA.

This success reflects the redevelopment of the Percy Gee Building, which was officially opened just over a year ago with the Square, the ARC, Nourish, 1923 and the O2 Academy venue being key highlights within the building!

We know that what we now have is one of the very best Students’ Unions in the…

You said...We listened...

...We acted.

I am pleased to announce that as of today, Tuesday 24th January 2012, a new Students’ Union policy will be in effect. This new policy, will mean that the Students’ Union building will be re-dedicated for the sole use of those in the University of Leicester community – that is primarily, yourselves and your fellow students.

Increased takings for our Student Groups and a record breaking year for the ARC

“Well, what a hectic time it has been with so many Union and society events to go to, and so many queries for me to solve. A significant step was made in the development of student representation at the University of Leicester Students’ Union. A Proposal was passed that dissolved Student Council in its current state in favour of creating one that was based on proportional representation

This is one of the biggest steps taken in the Union’s history to try and make the Union more relevant to all our students. The idea is that each course will elect a representative to a new Student Parliament that will represent their views, weather that is regarding their academic studies or an issue to do with societies or…
