Voting is exclusively online, and opens at 9am Wednesday 16th May and closes at 9pm Friday 18th May.

Bring your student card to show at the door and you’ll get a special reduced rate of only £6! And even if you don’t have a FestiBall ticket, entry is only £8.

We are pleased to announce that the new University Bike Park is being launched on May 8th as part of a week of cycling-related events when you’ll be able to get your bike fixed, pick up info and freebies and learn how to fix your own bike.
For more information and to register for access to the Bike Park, go to the Travel and Transport - Bicycle page.
Come and see the stalls on the library podium next week to get your bike fixed for free, attend a bike maintenance workshop or just pick up some cycle-freebies.

Dance giants Basement Jaxx will play an exclusive DJ set on May 10 at Leicester’s O2 Academy to support the University of Leicester’s Cardiovascular Research Centre appeal, with all funds raised from ticket sales going directly towards the new unit at Glenfield Hospital.
Members Simon Ratcliffe and Leicester-born Felix Buxton are currently working on the follow up to their 2009 albums “Scars” & “Zephyr”, and fans will be able to catch a preview of new Basement Jaxx material during their headline set.
The London-based duo, who have won Grammy and Brit awards, will be supported by dubstep producer Boy Kid…

The results of the 2012 Times Higher Education Student Experience Survey shows a 20-place jump to joint eighth (in a list of 105 institutions).
The results from the latest survey find us solidly in the top ten, sharing eighth spot with Reading, Birmingham, Southampton and UEA.
This success reflects the redevelopment of the Percy Gee Building, which was officially opened just over a year ago with the Square, the ARC, Nourish, 1923 and the O2 Academy venue being key highlights within the building!

Leicester University Students’ Television (LUST) are entered into a string of award categories at the annual National Student Television Association (NaSTA) Awards; but they need your help to win the Peoples Choice Award.
‘Come Read With Me’ is up against competition from 4 other student union’s in the shortlist for Peoples Choice.

The Students’ Union is moving against the awful practice of Tar Sands, please send a letter to Canadian Federal Minister of Natural Resources Joe Oliver, ask him to stop the expansion.

This evening at 5.45pm, the Environment Team will be auditing the Percy Gee for its green ethics of lighting. We at the Students’ Union think we have the Greenest building on campus, so come along and put us to the test!
This morning, we will be working out your carbon footprint and giving you tips on how to shrink it!
