The Students’ Union is moving against the awful practice of Tar Sands, please send a letter to Canadian Federal Minister of Natural Resources Joe Oliver, ask him to stop the expansion.

This evening at 5.45pm, the Environment Team will be auditing the Percy Gee for its green ethics of lighting. We at the Students’ Union think we have the Greenest building on campus, so come along and put us to the test!
This morning, we will be working out your carbon footprint and giving you tips on how to shrink it!

For the 3rd day of Go Green Week, we are asking students and staff to walk into campus.
One of the best things you can do for this planet is to cut down on your Carbon footprint and one of the best ways you can do this is by looking at your transport.
So, if you walk, cycle, car-share or bus into campus, come to the Percy Gee Building and you’ll get a FREE tea or coffee. Environment Team volunteers will be at the various entrances to campus to give you a voucher.

Suzi Burtenshaw, your Welfare and International Officer, is carrying out this survey to hear about your experiences with the accommodation that you lived in during 2010-2011. She will use the results to find out the key problems in the accommodation sector and will make positive recommendations to landlords and letting agents for how this sector could be improved. As well as this she will be publishing the results to students to help them when house-hunting.

Owen Jones, Campaigns & Involvement Officer, has been elected to NUS Services Limited (NUSSL), the commercial arm of the National Union of Students to oversee the environmental and ethical aspects of their activity.
At the NUS Services Limited (NUSSL) AGM held in Liverpool on March 31th 2010 Owen Jones, the Campaigns & Involvement Officer at the Students’ Union, was elected to the Environmental and Ethics Committee.
