Joining LUST is a brilliant way to meet new people as we work extensively with other student groups and societies to bring the best student related content possible! Being a part of LUST will also look brilliant on your CV as it is an extra-curricular subject which gives you proper experience in practically everything media related i.e. presenting, filming, marketing, producing etc. Also, our productions are not just for the eyes of the student demographic, some are focused with the idea of being entered into the National Student Television Awards (NaSTA).
NaSTA is an annual occasion and furthermore the pinnacle event of any student television station’s calendar. Each Easter, all NaSTA affiliated stations come together to celebrate the past year’s achievements, in the hope of walking away with an award which recognises all the hard-work and dedication their station has put in. The opportunity to meet industry professionals and attend the useful workshops which are hosted, also add to this momentous occasion.
We here at LUST are proud to say each year we have succeeded in winning a NaSTA award, our most recent victory being that of an award for “Best Fresher’s Coverage 2011.” Therefore, with this in mind, if you want to gain media related experience, or just try something new and creative, do not hesitate to get in touch with a member of the LUST executive – passionate people who will help you develop your thoughts into something great and most importantly, watchable!
