Why join Modern Dance?

If you love to dance, want to try something new and make great friends with people who have similar interests, then this is the society for you!

MODERN DANCE CLASSES
The Modern Dance Society holds weekly ballet and modern dance classes at the University of Leicester. These dance classes take place on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.

Tuesday Evenings: Our classes on Tuesdays are with a professional dance teacher; Ballet is from 5.30pm until 6.30pm and Modern Dance is from 6.30pm until 7.30pm. Individuals with all levels of dance experience are welcome. Each class costs £2.50 for a non-member and £1.50 for a member (excluding taster sessions).

Thursday Evenings: A committee-run choreography class giving individuals the chance to become more involved in the society. These classes take place from 5.30 until 7.30pm, are for members only, and are FREE!

SOCIALS
We like to party (themed bar crawls and nights out). We like to chill (go out for meals; see amazing productions at local venues). Ask us!

COMPETITIONS
We like to take part in local competitions, they are really fun and offer something different to the classes. For more information check out the ‘About’ section.

WHY SHOULD I BECOME A MEMBER?
There are so many reasons!

The most important being that members get a whopping £1 discount on every class they attend – that’s £2 cheaper than a non-member if you go to both ballet and modern.

Only members of the Modern Dance Society are able to represent the society by taking part in competitions and Thursday choreography classes.

In terms of socials, only members receive special discounts on socials taking place throughout the year. Non-members are welcome, but at a more expensive cost.

Membership costs £5 for the whole year!
