Tae Kwon-Do, which translates as the art of the hand and foot, has existed as a University of Leicester club for several years and over that time has accommodated students who have both practiced before attending university and those who are complete newcomers to the art.

This traditional Korean martial art is based around kicks, punches and blocks. The general aim of the club is to provide an enjoyable and accessible alternative to many of the other Martial Arts societies offered by the University. The club does this by attempting to strike a balance between the discipline that is traditional for the Martial Art and a relaxed and enjoyable training atmosphere. This training style allows us to recruit a large number of members every year. The club practices the ITF style of Tae Kwon- Do and welcomes WTF members. We run several sessions a week with highly skilled and approachable instructors and participate in many competitions throughout the year.

Joining Tae Kwon-do offers the opportunity to meet new people, increase your fitness and enjoy learning a useful skill while experiencing the busy social calendar of the club. Contact us anytime and visit us at Freshers’ Fair to find out more.
