Alex Nutt - Academic Affairs Officer
I’m Alex Nutt and I’m your Academic Affairs Officer. I oversee the Education Unit which is there to help with any academic issues that you have during your time at the University of Leicester.
I am also the principle contact between the Students’ Union and the University
providing you with the best representation.
The Education Unit is highly skilled in assisting you with any academic problems or issues, so either make an appointment or just drop in to see us in the Students’ Union.
Alysoun Hancock - Education Officer
I’m Alysoun Hancock and I’m the Education Officer for the Students’ Union.
I offer a free and confidential service for all students.
If you have any concerns or difficulties to do with your course or your academic
progress that you’d like to discuss you can come and talk to me.
I can help you think about your options and help you find away to move your
worry or problem forward.
You can pop in to find me in The Percy Gee Building, call to make an

James Gardner - Course Rep Coordinator
Hi I’m James, the Course Rep Coordinator.
I look after the University’s 370 Course Reps and make sure they are properly trained and equipped with the knowledge and tools they need to effectively represent their students.
I’m the programme leader for the Course Rep Leicester Award programme which develops key employability skills useful in the workplace.
I also coordinate and organise Education Campaigns such as ‘I Love my Academic’ in order to create greater awareness and understanding of Education issues that affect students.
I also deal with Casework and can offer advice and guidance on appealing against degree termination or re-classification.
