I can say no!
What is the campaign about?
This year the Students' Union is starting a new campaign called "I can say no!". The campaign is looking at students who feel pressured into activities most cvommonly referred to as 'initiations'. Although groups may find these activities integral to the start of the year, they often do more damage than good! Whether this be creating dangerous situations, damaging their own groups reputation, or harming students wellbeing. No student should be coerced into situations like these in order to join a student community!
Campaign Goals Include:
- Promote Respect and Inclusivity: Encourage a culture where all students feel respected and included.
- Challenge Harmful Traditions: Address and challenge traditions that may be harmful or exclusionary.
- Empower Students: Empower students to speak out against coercion and exclusion.
- Foster Safe Environments: Ensure that university sports and activities are safe and welcoming for everyone.
How you can get involved:
- Speak Out: If you see or experience something that doesn’t feel right, don’t be afraid to speak out.
- Support Each Other: Stand by your peers and support them in promoting a respectful and inclusive environment.
- Lead by Example: Be a role model by leading with integrity and promoting positive change.
