Leicester Medics Cricket Club (LMCC) are a redwood in the cricketing forest of life! We invite boys and girls of all skill levels to come and check us out, whether you have been a life time cricketing fanatic or just trying to figure out what this sport is all about, we would love for you to join! Throughout the year we train to be able to compete (and hopefully win?!) several tournaments and matches that take place in the year, so bring your kit! The club has had success in winning National Association of Medical Schools (NAMS) tournament in 2014 and 2015, as well as indoor intramural tournament in 2016! If you have never played cricket before don't be scared, this club is a great place to start! We have plenty of senior players who are great at helping beginners get started, so come along- you may surprise yourself! You may even get to play in a real match and be a hero for the team, you just never know. As much as we love a win, our main emphasis is enjoying the weekends and including as many people as possible, that's what it's really all about!
?We train every Saturday 3:30-5pm at Regent’s College (conveniently besides the medical school) for the winter period. The outdoor season begins after Easter, where training takes place at Stoughton fields(in Oadby- ideal for all first years) on Monday evenings and on Saturdays. Weekly updates will be posted on the Facebook group, so be sure to follow us on there! Training days any sporting clothes are fine, match days we ask everyone to wear LMCC whites if possible.
?When this group of cricketers aren’t cricketing, we like to set up some socials. We are a tight-knit group who will set up some social events throughout the year. Everyone is welcome to these, even those who don’t not love cricket!
??Any questions feel free to email any of the captains below:
Or ask us on the Facebook page be (other people will probably have the same questions)!
