You’ve fought hard to get into (and to a certain extent, stay) in medical school. That dark blue lanyard is all you’ve wanted. But have you ever wondered what other professions you can enter on your way there? Or what else is available to someone with an MBChB degree? Then, ExtraMedical Affairs is your first contact! As a society, our mission is to raise awareness of the numerous non-clinical career paths a MBChB graduate can have. Such exposure we believe is especially beneficial to those of you who have doubts that Medicine is your only lifelong career. To accomplish this, we plan to: 1. Invite professionals from fields such as pharmaceutics, research, medical education and more to introduce you to their careers; 2. Hold seminars / workshops to provide teaching relevant to our careers (data handling, leadership, presentation skills, investment banking); 3. Provide you with references to kick off your preparation for an “ExtraMedical” career. We look forward to having you at our future events! 10 points if you know which meme the logo is based off of.
