SCRUBS

 

Leicester SCRUBS is the student surgical and anaesthetic society at the University of Leicester. The society provides any medical student with an interest in pursuing a career in surgery or anaesthetics a good head start, by holding revision sessions in the surgical aspects of the course from the anatomy in year 1 all the way through to finals.

Here at SCRUBS we are all very passionate about surgery and strive to provide the best opportunities for our members to learn more about this and help them bulid their CV. We have some exclusive benifits for our members which are underlined below. This is not to say that non-members can also get invloved in our events but there may be a small fee for some events. We are committed at SCRUBS to invlove our members and host bigger and better events every year.  

We work in partnership with the Royal College of Surgeons of England and various other organisations to offer our members various benifits and opportunities including:

  • Teaching sessions
  • Conferences - an opportunity to submit posters at our conferences 
  • Courses
  • Discounted books
  • Mentoring scheme (you will be paired with a clinican and can organsie meeting with them to get advice of you future career) 
  • Revision days/ sessions
  • Loaning scheme for suturing kits 
  • Audit opportunities 
  • Opportunity to join the committee for next year and contribute to events 

 

The extensive resources and relationships we have built with various clinical experts over the years have ensured that all members get events of the highest quality.

We often get discounts for our members to attend external courses saving more than they paid to become members. 

 

We are an exciting and constantly evolving society that is always looking for new members so we have a huge range of roles within our society which are listed below:

Core comittee: (To apply for these roles at least one year in other positions is required)
