Welcome to SLUGS (Students of Leicester Universities Guides and Scouts). We’re one of over 40 clubs across the UK affiliated to the national Student Scout and Guide Organisation (SSAGO).
Although we follow the aims of the Scout Association and Girlguiding UK, you don’t have to already be a scout or guide to join us. We welcome anyone, whether you used to be, still are, or never have been a Scout or Guide. Through our society there are contacts and opportunities for you to volunteer at local Scout and Guide groups, which looks fantastic on your CV. Get in touch with us to find out more.
Our members are part of an amazing organisation - and have a lot of fun. SLUGS is a great way to meet new people, take part in a wide range of fantastic activities and have a great time! We meet once a week and do things like Cinema evenings, murder mystery nights and treasure hunts.
We also go on weekend camps 3 times over the academic year. Known as rallies, they are hosted by other universities SSAGO groups which are a great way to meet like-minded people from across the country.
3 years running we have been nominated for Awards with the Students' Union and Won Common Interest Group of the Year in 2016/17! Come and find out why!
