(Idea still active as of 20/11/24) As it says on the tin, this would be a society for all things Minecraft, and other sandbox video games given enough interest.
Just like the previous Minecraft society, the core of the new society would be a 24/7 survival server, on either Java or Bedrock depending on which is more popular / accessible (Feel free to drop a comment below with your preferred version!).
Besides the server, activities could include;
(1)In-person meet ups to play together, whether it's on the server or not. We could hop on Hypixel, or play around with new snapshots.
(2)Debates - From thoughts on various updates to planning out what the server needs. There's no shortage of topics...
(3)Minecraft live / Minecraft movie watch parties (Free snacks included???)....
(4)An extra server if funds allow - Creative, mini games...
(5)With minigames, there could also be Contests. Who can complete the parkour the fastest, who can build the best thing, etc.
(6)Workshops and tutorials. Maybe you struggle with building, or perhaps you want to make a dapper skin, but you don't know how? And who said it has to be limited to online? In workshops, we could bring our skins to life as costumes, or craft some cool Minecraft sculptures.
(7)(Quite an ambitious idea here, but...) A group project to recreate the university. This could be a fun way of introducing people to the university, especially those who can't attend open-days. As a bonus, it can attract publicity online, such as when the Danish government recreated their entire country.
Don't have access to Minecraft? No problem. We could play with split-screen.
I am willing to look into bringing an Xbox One (Although we would need enough controllers. It goes without saying that this would only work for bedrock, too).
New to Minecraft? No problem either.
All skill levels are accepted. Same with time commitments, and play-styles. Minecraft is near enough limitless. There's no wrong way to experience Minecraft. So long as you have an interest, you're welcome here.

Otherwise, if you want to see this society become a reality, then we still need 2 more people to fill the officer roles - And that could include you...
