We're made up of a wide range of chess ability, from beginner to moderately advanced, so you are likely to find someone that you can have a good game with. You’re welcome to join us whatever your skill level, and if you don’t know the rules, don’t worry! Any of our kind committee members and regulars can teach you: you can learn chess at any age :) We have a range of events planned for 2025 such as in-house tournaments, pub crawls as well as collaborations with other societies! Make sure you stay up-to-date through our Instagram page, Discord Server, Facebook Page and our Whatsapp Group, so that you don't miss out on any upcoming events For our veteran chess players, you have the chance to represent the University of Leicester in league matches against clubs across Leicestershire (LRCA), as well as in the upcoming BUCA championships, a huge inter-university tournament with big names such as Cambridge, Oxford and UCL expected to join this year.
