Want to discuss interesting topics, debate competitively, become a part of a welcoming community, or just improve your public speaking skills? 

Then the Debating Society has you covered

• Come along to one of our weekly debate and discussion sessions which are designed to be accessible as possible for beginners. Our sessions are held on Tuesday evenings (6-7:30 pm) with the opportunity to chat and get to know each other better afterwards at our informal pub socials. 

• We also offer a range of regular socials from low-key pizza nights to drunken debates! Socials are an excellent opportunity to meet new people and just have some fun. Check out the ‘events’ section for more!

• As well as socials, we also run a variety of different events, including formal debate competitions with other universities (intervarsity); training workshops; opportunities to meet guest speakers; collaborations with other societies, and more!

• Helping to fund our society which almost completely relies on membership funds to pay for events, speakers and our campaigns.
