Leicester Panthers is one of the largest and most successful clubs on campus, with nearly 100 members and numerous Grand and National Champion Titles. We have 8 teams which include Hip Hop, Pom, Stunt, Full Routine and a Performance ('Game Day') Team. We pride ourselves in offering places to everyone regardless of ability (in fact, most of our members start with no previous cheerleading experience!).

Cheerleading has been growing rapidly in popularity in the UK over the past few years, and as a club we are so excited to be able to offer everyone the chance to fall in love with the sport at University. When you join Panthers you are joining an inclusive and supportive family; we will support you to grow in all aspects of your life, whether that be academically, personally or as an athlete. We will also equip you with transferable skills for after you graduate and beyond, and you will grow in confidence. 

Our competitive teams attend national competitions during the year, and our performance team is being rebranded this season and will be performing at BUCS games, university events and varsity! Additionally, at the end of the year we host our annual Showcase where we perform our routines to our friends and families. Our social calendar is very vibrant and we hold a variety of events throughout the year such as: Christmas Dinner, Alumni Ball, Summer Tour, Cheer Awards and MORE!

 

- £60 for athletes* (includes a season t-shirt)

- £20 for social members 

*(plus the compulsory Team Leicester membership fee shown below)

members are also required to purchase a uniform, competition bow , and cheer shoes (range in price but the club will recommend options)

2022/23 - Ruby & Obsidian became National Champions 

2021/22 - Onyx became National Champions, making Panthers history 

2021/22 - Obsidian became 2x National Champions 

2021/22 - Crystal win Grand Champions, the Performance award and are recognised by the judges

2021/22 - Sapphire compete for the first time ever and are crowned Division Champions

2021/22 - Crystal, Onyx, Obsidian, Emerald & Ruby all became Division Champions

2020/21 - Emerald are crowned winners of UKUniCheer jumps competition

2020/21 - Outstanding Contribution to Student Experience

2020/21 - Sports Club of the Year

2019/20 - Emerald & Ruby became 2 x National Champions and Grand Champions 

2019/20 - Obsidian became 2 x National Champions

2019/20 - Jet & Ammolite became National Champions

2018/19 - Most Improved Club of the Year

2018/19 - Jet, Ammolite & Obsidian became National and Grand Champions

2017/18 - Ruby became National and Grand Champions

2017/18 - Obsidian became National Champions

2016/17 - Sports Society of the Year

2016/17 - Jet became National Champions
