The LUCFR scheme was started to reduce the time taken for life-saving treatment to be initiated for local people suffering from medical emergencies. The volunteers are all students of the University of Leicester and De Montfort University, who are trained to respond by East Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Trust.
Leicester Marrow work alongside the charity Anthony Nolan to help save the lives of people with blood cancer by signing people onto the stem cell register.
The University of Leicester Oxfam Society supports Oxfam UK in its work on vital issues to tackle the root causes of poverty. From life's basics - food, water, health and education - to complex questions around aid, climate change and human rights.
Food Rescue Volunteers help to reduce food waste on campus, improve food accessability, and support other students through the cost-of-living crisis.
