Getting a Bus Pass:
If you are moving into Oadby Student Village in your first year then it is probably a benefit to you to have a bus pass.
The Oadby Shuttle Bus runs between Oadby Student Village and main campus during the week.
It is run by the University and operated by Centrebus. To use this service you will need to purchase an annual bus pass, there are no pay as you go options.

Train Travel:
Leicester train station is only a short walk from the University of Leicester situated on London Road. It links up to major cities, like Birmingham, Sheffield and London, this enables most students to travel to their family home via train who come from outside of Leicestershire.
From Leicester you can even get a train straight to Paris via St. Pancras!
16-25 Railcard:
Some of you may have been lucky enough to receive this railcard as part of your student bank account, however for everyone else, this railcard cannot be recommended enough!
It costs £30 a year and takes 30% off every rail fare you purchase with the railcard from that point onwards.
Cycling:
Student hall accommodation all has a large amount of bike racks (remember to bring a bike lock), and biking is another travel option of going to university. If you register your student ID in the security lodge on campus (situated behind the Fielding Johnson Building) then you can use the underground bike storage beneath the library.
There are lots of cycle route throughout Leicester that enables a safe route in your commute, the main being down London Road from Oadby and through Victoria Park.
