Previously the This Girl Can Campaign, the FearLEICS Womxn In Sport Campaign celebrates womxn involved in any physical activity – from walking to uni to participating weekly in matches. Contributing to International Women’s Day which recognised nationally as a day to celebrate the achievements of womxn and the impact they’ve had through their sporting achievements. This week will focussed on womxn-only fitness spaces, starting with a brunch on International Womxn’s Day. The growth of womxn in sport is on the rise and it’s only getting bigger!
The alternative spelling ‘womxn’ is used to include trans and non-binary women & women-aligned individuals, who have historically been discounted as women, as well as cis women uncomfortable with the history of "woman". There's nothing offensive about describing yourself as a woman, though it is important that we remove as many barriers to respecting and including identities as possible.
