Hi everyone,
We are delighted to launch ‘Stand Against Islamophobia’ this month. Whilst November is recognised as ‘Islamophobia Awareness Month’ by many community organisations, Islamophobia does not end on the 30th November. This year, in collaboration with the Islamic Society, we wanted to bring light to the nature of Islamophobia, structurally, politically and socially, particularly how it manifests itself in the University setting, and what steps we as a university community can take to combat it so that our spaces of learning are safe and accessible to Muslim students.
Throughout the year we will be producing resources, events as well as utilising different campaigns to both highlight the nature of Islamophobia as well as challenging its manifestations in Higher Education. Please do keep an eye on this page for what we have planned for the year.
Kind regards,
Adnan
