We understand that the current situation surrounding the Covid 19 pandemic has led to a lot of students feeling anxious and as your Students’ Union, we are here to provide support at this time.
We will attempt to answer to any questions that you might have as quickly as possible and we can reassure you that we will work with the University and other partners to address issues you are experiencing.
Below you can find our updates and relevant services signposting. Please do not hesitate to get in touch with us or with the University through their dedicated Covid19 email address if you have any questions.
University of Leicester Covid19 Information
The University has brought together all relevant information for both staff and students on a dedicated Covid-19 website. This contains all of the latest updates, information and communications sent out to students, including FAQs across various areas, such as accomodation, graduation, visas, examinations and assessments and much more.
If you have a question related to Covid-19, please check the main University Covid-19 page, the University’s FAQ’s section, or contact the dedicated email address (covid19help@le.ac.uk)
What is your Students' Union doing to support you?
Your Executive Officers and SU staff are meeting with the University on a daily basis to make sure everything that can be done for students, is being done. Key questions have been asked on assessments, safety, racism and steps that could be taken to make sure the University is working for you.
Please contact the Executive Officers) if you have any questions you’d like them to ask on your behalf.
We recognise this is a difficult time for many, particularly without key social and support communities around us, and we would like to reassure you that your Students’ Union is still operational online. We will continue to offer the majority of our services in a virtual space.
We will be showcasing some of the amazing things student groups are doing online and we will be hosting talks, quizzes and sharing curated playlists for you to enjoy.

Racism Concerns
We are extremely disappointed to hear of cases of racism against Chinese and/or East Asian students on campus here at Leicester. We are sorry that students on this campus have been subject to this as it contravenes the University’s very own Dignity and Respect policy which every student signs up to.
We have raised this with the University Executive Board to tackle any cases of racism in the name of dignity and respect and reassure our students on campus. In the meantime, if there are any concerns surrounding this, we would encourage you to refer to the University’s report and support website.
If you have any questions about how to study remotely, these can be answered by accessing the University’s website.
