Currently, university gym facilities close at 10 PM on weekdays and 7:30 on weekends, which does not adequately accommodate the diverse and demanding schedules of our student body. Many students are balancing academic commitments, part-time jobs, and extracurricular activities, leaving limited time to prioritize physical health and well-being within restricted gym hours.
Extending gym operations to 24/7 would provide all students—regardless of their schedules—with the opportunity to exercise at their convenience, promoting healthier lifestyles and improving mental well-being. Physical fitness is proven to reduce stress, enhance focus, and support overall academic success. Making gym facilities available around the clock would better align with the needs of our campus community and foster an environment that prioritizes wellness.
We urge the university to recognize the importance of flexible fitness access and support this initiative. Join us in advocating for a healthier, more accommodating campus.
