Dhriti Bardhan
Hi everyone, I am Dhriti, your International Students' Officer for the academic year 24/25. Again, a HUGE thank you to all who supported me during the elections! Let me tell you a little about myself.
I am a final-year Law with Criminology international student. I enjoy working in roles that interest me such as this and I also love to binge-watch dramas on a 'lazy day', and explore different places and cuisines. I wish to go hiking sometime. I decided to run for the International Students’ Officer position as I wanted to help resolve the issues faced by international students and connect and reach out to them.
Some of my priorities involve arranging exclusive and engaging social events, for example, to celebrate International Students' Day. I have been working on several projects and if you wish to know more about them, I'll see you soon at the university!

Global Fusion Fest
Celebrate International Students' Day with us!
On the 13th & 14th of November we invite you to participate in different sports on a two-day sporting event lead by your Sports and Societies Officer. During this time, five key sports—football, volleyball, basketball, cricket, and badminton—will be played. Students will form teams and compete in these events, fostering both teamwork and friendly competition. At the end of the games, the winning teams will be announced. To get involved, keep an eye on the Sports and Societies Officer social media (@leicssupport)!
If sporting is not your thing, there are still ways to get involved! On the 18th of November, expand your cultural horizon and learn more about the different cultures in Leicester by attending Global Fusion Fest. Look through the stalls representing the different countries within our student community, eat food from different parts of the world (?), see performances from groups, and attend a fashion show to celebrate different cultural attires. During the event, we will also celebrate the achievements of the winning sporting teams by distributing prizes to the champions.
To sign up to attend, you can sign up on the Students’ Union website later in term 1. If you are interested in participating, you can contact su-international@le.ac.uk.
