Wellbeing Officer Update
Hoor Pathan, Wellbeing Executive, departs the Students’ Union.
We bid a fond farewell to Hoor Pathan, Wellbeing Officer 22/23 and 23/24, who has departed to pursue a new career challenge.
During her tenure, Hoor made a real impact on our university community, championing several initiatives that have positively impacted our students.
Hoor's achievements include securing £13,000 in funding from the University to launch the Free Breakfast initiative, which supported over 9,000 students during the cost of living crisis. Her dedication ensured that students had access to a nutritious meal throughout the year.
Moreover, in collaboration with the wider team, Hoor Pathan orchestrated and successfully delivered key events such as Sexual Violence Awareness Week and Destress Festival, both of which not only raised awareness but also brought together a diverse community of over 1,400 students.
Reflecting on her tenure, Hoor Pathan remarked, "I wish to place on record my heartfelt thanks to the students who voted me into this role with such high vote numbers and engaged with my work. Your trust and support have been my driving force. I would like to thank my colleagues in the SU Advice Service, with whom I had the pleasure of working closely during my time. I am also grateful for the unwavering support of the University leadership team, including Vice Chancellor, Nishan Canagarajah, Registrar, Geoff Green, PVC Education, Liz Jones, Academic Registrar, Nuala Devlin, and Director of Student Services & Belonging, Angela Truby."
As she embarks on a new journey, Hoor extends her best wishes to the Students’ Union in its new chapter.
