Part-Time Officers - Paid Roles (7 hours a week for up to 35 weeks during the Academic Year)

A summary of each of the roles is outlined below, with the full role descriptions available by clicking on the name of the role.
Accessibility Officer
- Be a Liberation Officer of the Leicester Students’ Union and represent the needs and opinions of students with accessibility needs to the Executive and to the University where necessary.
- Run appropriate campaigns and events specific to those students with accessibility needs.
- Sitting on Liberation Council
Postgraduate Research Officer
- To represent the needs and opinions of Postgraduate Research students to the Executive and to the University where necessary.
- Run appropriate campaigns and events specific to Postgraduate Research students..
- Sit on Academic Council
Ethnic Equity Officer
- Be a Liberation Officer of Leicester Students’ Union and represent the needs and opinions of Black, Asian, and ethnically diverse students to the Executive and to the University where necessary.
- Celebrating different ethnic groups by running events and campaigning
- Sitting on the Liberation Council
Women’s Officer
- Be a Liberation Officer of the Leicester Students’ Union and represent the needs and opinions of students who identify as a woman to the Executive and to the University where necessary.
- Run appropriate campaigns and events specific to students who identify as women.
- Sit on the Liberation Council
International Officer
- Represent the interests of all international students and support their integration into University life.
- Run appropriate campaigns and events specific to International students.
- Attend Academic Council meetings.
LGBT+ Officer
- Be a Liberation Officer of the Leicester Students’ Union and represent the needs and opinions of LGBT+ students to the Executive and to the University where necessary.
- Run appropriate campaigns and events specific to LGBT+ students.
- Sitting on the Liberation Council
Arts Officer
- Be a Part-Time Officer of the Leicester Students’ Union and represent the needs and opinions of students interested in the Arts to the Executive and to the University where necessary.
- Run appropriate campaigns and events to increase participation in arts-related activities.
- To chair the Creative Network
Trans and Non-Binary Officer
- Be a Liberation Officer of the Leicester Students’ Union and represent the needs and opinions of Trans and Non-Binary students to the Executive and to the University where necessary.
- Run appropriate campaigns and events specific to Trans and Non-Binary students.
- Sitting on the Liberation Council
Sports Officer
- To represent students for all sporting-related activities at the University of Leicester and where relevant to external bodies.
- To work alongside Sports and Active Life to enhance and improve the current sporting provision within the Union and the University of Leicester, including sitting on relevant University Committees, Working Groups, and Advisory Groups.
- To chair and lead the Sports Council
Societies Officer
- To represent students for all student group-related activities at the University of Leicester and where relevant to external bodies.
- To support and develop student groups, helping them achieve their full potential, and improving student engagement.
- To chair and lead the Societies Council
Sustainability Officer
- To represent the needs and opinions of students interested in sustainability to the Executive and to the University where necessary.
- Run appropriate campaigns and events to increase participation in sustainability-related activities.
- To chair the Sustainability Network/Council.
Distance Learning Officer
- To represent the needs and opinions of Distance Learning students to the Executive and to the University where necessary.
- Run appropriate campaigns and events specific to Distance Learning students.
